The main concept about the legality of
watching free movies online
The
concept of legality as well as illegality depends somewhat on the thinking of a
person. There are several things present in the online world that does not
follow copyright rules or follows it half way. This leads to the fact that the
legal bodies those are associated with the working of the internet and its
associated factors must put some light on the topic of legality. They must
decide which the parts and topics covered by copyright. But this topic is not
that simple or smooth as it seems to be. Then there is confusion about which
law body or the court will deal with a particular case of copyright for example
at times it can fall under the jurisdiction of the criminal court while at
times it comes under the authority of the civil court. The unauthorized or
fraudulence usage of copyright has different aspects and thus is complicated to
decide which law body will judge the issue and declare the punishment if found
guilty.
The
copyright issue is so huge and complicated that even the biggest companies
spend uncountable dollars and political means to safeguard their copyrights.
This proves if it was so simple an issue then these companies would not have
wasted so much money on this particular topic.
There
have been a lot of concepts and diversion of thinking about this copyright
factor. Every issue has several justifications coming from different people and
out of all these justifications; it is hard to decide which one is correct.
Here
are mentioned some issues and their justifications
·
A
person rents one particular movie and calls 5 other friends and they see the
movie together. Now, these five friends have not rented the movie. Thus there
is a chance that the owner of the movie declares it as a copyright theft. But
now comes the second point where the person who has rented says he or she will
visit those 5 friends separately and show them that same movie. Now is it a
theft of copyright. The owner of the movie is still losing revenue. Thus there
are separate views.
·
A
person rents a house and finds a movie lying there and views it. Now is this a
copyright violation? There are varied justifications one of which is the owner
could not gain revenue out of this but again does this kind of usage really
falls under theft or does it require a license or should a fee be charged by
the owner?
Now
a person rents few fusion movies and rather than visiting his or her friends
individually sends them over the movie digitally. It can also be the person
does not send the movie but only set the data in any particular place from
where others are able to download it or they watch movies online. Thus it
becomes hard to decide at which point the whole issue turns to be illegal.
Therefore there is this huge confusion about watching free movies online being
legal or not.
