Water methanol injection (wasser methanol einspritzung) is just about simply what it sounds like. A combination
starting from a hundred percent water to fifty percent methanol is sprayed in
to the intake of an engine. While the liquid enters the consumption, it absorbs
warmth energy from the encompassing air and travels with the air. Because the
mixture enters the cylinder and as the intake valve closes, the liquid
continues to soak up heat power. As soon as the piston starts off to compress
the combination, it stays above what's referred to as the saturation
temperature (the temperature of which a liquid below goes a phase change
converting into a gas, like boiling water, at confirmed temperature).
While the piston
continues to compress the combination, the liquid is ready to take up more heat
power. Then, when the fuel is injected to the cylinder and ignited, the
temperature reaches the saturation point and the liquid becomes a vapor (or fuel).
In the course of this section change, the oxygen molecules from the water can
work together with the fuel molecules to provide extra oxygen for combustion.
While straight water would not subscribe to major horsepower good points, this
technique does help to decrease combustion temperatures. While the share of
methanol that's injected into this equation rises, more power is produced
(because of the burning of the methanol).
